Clarification of New Island Statement

New Island Resources Inc. (TSXV:NIS) (New Island) of St. John�s, NL announces that it wishes to clarify its news release of April 17th by retracting the statement �a gold resource in the 2 � 5 million ounce range� set out in the fourth paragraph of the release.

New Island does not have a technical report supporting this projection.
