Appointment of New Director and Grant of Stock Options

New Island Resources Inc. (TSXV:NIS) of St. John’s, NL is pleased to announce that Mr. Tarik G. Elsaghir has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Corporation.

It also announces that it has approved the issue of 1,900,000 stock options to Directors and Officers, pursuant to the company’s Stock Option Plan. The options have an exercise price of $0.22 per share, expiring five years from date of issue.
